If I make application to attend the School do I need to send in a deposit?
Yes. After sending your Application online, you will be sent an email telling you how to send a depost of $100.00 US dollars to the School.

Why must I send in a deposit with my Application?
The deposit insures that you are definitely committed to attend the School to the point of making an initial non-refundable investment. Your deposit confirms your place at the School and reserves your dorm room as well.

What happens to my deposit if you don't accept my Application?
Your deposit (less a $10.00 processing fee) will be refunded should your Application not be accepted by the School for any reason.

What happens if I change my mind about coming to the School?
Your deposit cannot be refunded should you wish to revoke your Application.

When should I pay my remaining fees?
Your full costs should be paid prior to your arrival. If you wait to pay the remaining balance of your fees until you actually arrive at the School a $50.00 additional fee applies.

You will also need to send a photo of yourself with your Application.
After sending in your Application online, you will be sent an email which will tell you how to send us a photo of yourself.

How many people can you accommodate at the School?
Our on-campus dorm facilities will able to accommodate a small, select group of approximately 24 students upon opening. However, it is possible that some people who live close to the School might enroll but live off campus. Because we have a limited number of dorm rooms on campus, early registration is vital.

Is it possible to attend the School and live off-campus?
We feel that part of the total experience of the School will be living together in a communal setting. However, you are certainly welcome to live off-campus. For students wishing to do so, you can subtract the Housing portion from the total cost of attending the School.

If I choose to live off-campus, or if I live close to the School do I still have to pay the housing cost?
No. We have separated the costs for that very reason. If you live off-campus you may subtract the dorm fee.

What are my options in finding an alternative place to live?
White Oak is a small community and has no motels. However, a good variety of motels are available in Longview, Texas. We suggest you conduct an internet search to find the best price. Motels in Longview are about 20-30 minutes driving distance from White Oak.

Are there RV hook ups at the School?
No. However, below is one recommendation for a RV park located not far from the School.

Yes.

Is the School for both single and married couples?
Yes. However, married couples will have to be willing to live in segregated dorms for the duration of the School unless choosing to live off-campus.

Do married couples need to apply as individuals?
Yes. Both husband and wife need to submit an online Application.

I live close to the School but I'm not able to attend the School everyday. Can I audit just the classes I am able to attend?
Yes, you may audit any teaching session at the following cost per session:

Members of Rock Hill Christian Fellowship: $20.00 US dollars.
Non-Members of Rock Hill Christian Fellowship: $25.00 US dollars.

You will not be able to successfully complete the course or be included in the commissioning ceremony if you choose to audit courses.

Will night sessions be open to the public?
Some evening sessions may be open to the public without charge but not all. Some evening sessions will be reserved for registered students.

Can I bring my children to the School?
We're sorry but we do not have facilities that will accommodate children.

Can you send me a brochure?
No. All of our information is provided online.

Can my dorm room cost be prorated for the days I don't use the room?
No. The full cost of Housing applies regardless of the actual number of days you occupy the room.

Can you tell me more about the Meal Option?
Yes. The School will serve breakfast and lunch Monday-Friday in our Portico Cafe'. The Meal Option covers these two meals. Students will be responsible for their evening meals and all meals on Saturday and Sunday.

What are other options in regards to food and meals?
The School will offer for sale on-site such foods as microwave meals, soups, yogurt, fruit, packaged sandwiches, milk, cereal, cold drinks, bottled water, and more at a reasonable price Also, a kitchenette is available to students where they can prepare their meals. A refrigerator is located inside the kitchenette area where they can keep their personal food items. A grocery store,  serveral restaurants, and a convenience store are within a 2 mile radius of the School.

Do I have to choose the Meal Option?
No. However, we feel it will be easier for students.

Enrolled students may purchase the meal option after arrival but the cost will NOT be prorated.

If I am not a registered student but I am auditing certain sessions, can I still purchase a meal during the day?

Local travel
There is no bus, rail, or tube service in White Oak. The only way you will be able to travel is by walking, renting a car, or using a bicycle. The School has a few bicycles on-site for your use at no charge.

Will the School have laundry facilities?
The School has one washing machine and one dryer that students will be able to share. In addition to this, a public coin laundry is located near the School.

What about money? How much should I bring?
Because White Oak is a small community, there is no quick and easy way to exchange foreign currency. There is only one travel agent in the area who does currency exchanges. There is a charge and sometimes you must wait for your money to arrive. It's best to bring enough US dollars with you to cover your personal needs. Also, consider bringing a credit card.

Can I make long distance or international telephone calls from the School?
Yes, but only if you use a pre-paid calling card. You can purchase one once you arrive.

Should I bring my laptop computer?
Yes. The School has free high-speed internet.

I am ready to apply and arrange for my travel to the School. Is there anything I should know?
It's important that you DO NOT purchase airline tickets or other forms of travel until your Application has been reviewed and you have been notified that you have been accepted as a student. The School can not reimburse students for any costs they incur if their Application is denied.

Once you inform me that I have been accepted to attend the School what do I need to know about arranging for my travel to the School?
You should keep in mind that White Oak is not a large city and - although we will do our best - we can not promise to transport you to and from any airport other than the local airport. The local airport serves Longview, Texas and the airport code is GGG. If you fly into the Longview, Texas airport we will arrange to pick you up upon your arrival and take you back to the airport when you depart at no additional cost.

Is there any other option other than flying into the Longview, Texas airport?
You might consider flying into Shreveport, Louisiana. Shreveport is only about 1.5 hours bus ride from Longview and the School can arrange to transport you for a reasonable additional fuel fee.

How about flying into the Dallas Forth Worth airport (DFW). Is that alright?
The DFW airport is a 3 hour drive from White Oak (6 hour round trip). We are sorry but we simply can not transport you to or from that airport. Some students choose to fly into Dallas and rent a car to get to the School.

What do I need to bring with me to the School?
Once you have been notified that you have been accepted as a student, we will send you an informational packet via email that will answer all these type questions.

I have other questions. How can I get answers before I apply?
You can send your questions by email to mark@shulamiteministries.org. They will be answered in a timely manner and then posted here for others to read.
